The ETA Foundation for Endowment and Development
(EFED) was founded in 2004 to establish for the ETA a solid financial
basis for the purpose of furthering scientific development and
for promotion of ETA visibility.
During the past three years the EFED has
accrued a capital of 20,500 Euros through donations from corporate
partners (Merck-Serono and Brahms) and from members of the ETA.
The target has been to reach a minimum sum of 50,000 Euros in
order to initiate the launching of activities initiated by the
ETA.
The EFED has recently instituted
a campaign to further publicize its existence and aims with a
view to encouraging much greater participation and support, chiefly
as regards donations and contributions. Once the latter has been
better established, EFED may proceed to the accomplishment of
its aims of supporting low-budget research and education as well
as of expanding ETA beyond its geographical borders. In a world
which is faced with so many upheavals and calamities, ETA must
be at the forefront to offer succor and relief through combating
thyroid disease both at home and in less privileged lands, in
the latter case most particularly via promotion of scientific
education.
We strongly appeal to all our members for every possible effort
to contribute to the advancement of our objectives. It is to be
stressed that all donations will be gratefully acknowledged on
the EFED page on the ETA website and in every issue of our Newsletter.
Let us give back to ETA the many benefits we have gained from
it.
