It gives us a great honor and privilege to announce that the 2017 Asia Oceania Thyroid Association (AOTA) Congress in conjunction with the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Korean Thyroid Association (KTA) will be held at the Busan Lotte Hotel, Busan, Korea from March 16 (Thr) to 19 (Sun), 2017.

12th congress in Korea is jointly prepared by Korean Thyroid Association and Asia Oceania Thyroid Association, and this AOTA congress is continuously held since 1978 in Asia Oceania region with the following missions.

• To advance the knowledge of basic and clinical thyroidology.
• To enhance the interest in the practice of medicine related to the thyroid and promotion of relevant research in thyroidology.
• To facilitate the collaboration and exchange of information among individuals and national societies within the region.
• To organize and coordination of regional scientific congresses and conferences within the region.

As vast a continent and as diverse a population, the Asian Region is a challenge to AOTA. How to gather thyroidologists coming from the Asian landmass and from the numerous islands in its peripheries is a tough mandate for Congress organizers.
