THE EUROPEAN THYROID ASSOCIATION LISSITZKY CAREER AWARD

The award is given on alternate years to a distinguished member of the Association who has made a life-long contribution to thyroid research.

1. The prize will be awarded preferably for work carried out in Europe.
2. The prize will be awarded to a scientist who has made outstanding contributions to thyroid research over his/her whole career.
3. The prize will be announced at least 8 months before the award to all members of the association who will be asked to submit suggestions to the Executive Committee.
4. Candidates for the prize should be proposed and seconded by any two Ordinary or Honorary members of the ETA. The proposers should submit a short citation (of no more than 500 words) indicating the nature of the candidate's personal contribution to thyroid research and to the ETA to the Secretary of the Association by the deadline for the submission of abstracts for the Annual Meeting of the ETA.
5. The award will be made by the Executive Committee after secret ballot of the members of the Committee. The prize will be awarded to the candidate with an absolute majority of the votes cast. In the event of a tied vote the President will have the deciding vote.
6. The prize covers economy travel, accommodation, a gold medal and a fee.
