Welcome to the
New website and logo of ETA

The ETA gets a make-over!

As those of you who were present at the last ETA meeting in Edinburgh are aware, the President, Secretary and the EC intend to make a number of changes in the way in which the ETA is run. In effect, this will involve a re-launch of the Association. As is common with middle-aged ladies, we felt the Association should have a face-lift. We have therefore designed a new logo, which will appear on all ETA documentation, letterheads etc. Four designs were put out for consultation with the members of the ETA at the last meeting in Edinburgh and the logo below was the most popular.

In addition, we intend to re-vamp and extend the website. The URL will be unchanged (www.eurothyroid.com ), but the company we will use to maintain the website has been changed from Delta City to Waters Designs Ltd. A website board has been convened (see item on new boards in the Newsletter), to help with new content and ideas for the website, but the website belongs to the members of the Association, and as such it should be useful for you. Contrary to popular opinion, websites do not spontaneously generate content - content needs to be provided. This is your website, so if you as members of the association would like to see any particular issue addressed or information added, we would be delighted to hear from you, especially if you are prepared to write the content yourself. There will be a members only area of the website, that will be password protected. The password will be issued to members who have paid their membership fee and will be changed annually….. so if you don’t pay your membership fee, you won’t be able to access the latest information.

The content of the original website will be updated very soon now. Suggestions for further information to be added to the public and members only areas of the website can be seen in the Newsletter. But we also need your input in order to keep the website alive and encouraging for joint research projects among the members, and also facilitating exchange of ideas among our younger researchers. We are sure that you will have some great ideas for your website, so please don’t be shy, and contact us with them as soon as possible! g.a.thomas@swansea.ac.uk
