To mark the end of the 3 year 3 million euro grant from Horizon 20/20 (Euthyroid) aimed at evaluation of the iodine deficiency situation in Europe, a special meeting was held in Krakow, Poland on 18th April 2018. This resulted in the Krakow Declaration on Iodine as a key step towards the sustainable prevention of iodine deficiency in Europe and calls on Member States and the European Union to adopt a harmonised policy framework to ensure optimal iodine intake in the population.
